  1. Latih anak solat dahulu
Fahamkan anak terlebih dahulu bahawa solat mesti dilaksanakan sebelum puasa.
  2. Bercerita tentang puasa
  7. Boleh berbuka tetapi kekalkan mood berpuasa
Jika anak tak mampu puasa, izinkan dia berbuka tapi cuba kekalkan mood berpuasa. Contohnya: Boleh minum sikit tapi sambung puasa ya.

TANYA TEACHER : Nak Anak Pandai Baca? Mainlah bersama!

Jadi bagaimana mahu ajar anak membaca? Maka biarkanlah mereka bermain kerana itulah pekerjaan mereka.

Di sinilah silap kita. Kita sangka nak anak pandai baca buku, kita ajar dia membaca hanya dengan guna buku. Ini silap besar.

Apa akan berlaku bila kita hanya guna buku sahaja?

1. Anak akan dikatakan cepat BOSAN.
2. Anak akan dikatakan asyik MAIN.

Mari saya bantu anda. Sebelum nak anak pandai baca, kena ada SYARAT dulu. Apakah ia?

1. Jangan GOPOH atau tergesa-gesa nak anak pandai baca. Anak kita bukan ROBOT.

Berlainan mengikut keupayaan anak. Maka BERSABARLAH.

4. Jangan INGAT tadika anak tempat SEPATUTNYA anak pandai baca.

Bagaimana? KOMUNIKASI DAN INTERAKSI dengan anak. Jangan mulakan dengan SKRIN. Maksudnya jangan perkenalkan GAJET. Belum tiba masa.

Walaupun bayi, biasakan bercakap dengannya.
✔️Manfaatkan waktu sebelum anak tidur.

BERBUAL

BERCERITA

BACAKAN BUKU

MAIN

Masa inilah anak-anak kumpul perkataan. Masa inilah anak-anak dibiasakan mendengar pelbagai perkataaan.

Jadi ia memudahkan proses membaca berlaku.

Kita belajar Fun-fun je. Jangan stress. Janganlah guna buku 24 jam.

Bagaimanakah caranya?

We learn a lot from our GENIUS AULAD children as we practice Solat every day with them. In fact, the first GENIUS AULAD outdoor activity EVERY YEAR is to bring children to the Masjid — to learn on how to respect and love the masjids.

Here are what we learn from our children, about play and pray in the masjid :-

  1. Arranging shoes is game ! Children love to sort and arrange things – only if we make it as a game , not a chore. SUGGESTION : Arrange shoes according to sizes from big to small , or arrange according to colours.
(IMPORTANT : But how do they play that if we adults just “campak” our shoes just like that without arranging? Some adults even “pijak” other people’s shoes just like that ! )
  2. “Sila Beratur” – Lining up is a game ! See how children find it fun to take turns , to stand behind each other , to do “choo-choo train”to make lines .
(IMPORTANT : But how do children play that if we adults love to cut the lines, always want to rush others, even block other cars at the car park etc? )
  3. Wudhu’ is a fun water play ! Children may not take their Wudhu’ perfectly yet , but they love the every opportunity to the “water play” with their friends, washing every part of wudhu’ in sequence.
(NOTE : Adab of using toilets in the masjids is just as important as Adab of Wudhu’. How do we teach children that Wudhu’ is to clean ourselves when the toilets are uncared for by us adults? Even worse, some adults take masjid toilets as the place to throw their babies’ diapers !!! Familiar with that sight? May Allah guide us.)
  4. To be in the Saf is a game ! Children love to stand side by side , shoulder to shoulder , feet to feet. Believe it or not, it is a Discipline-Game . It is the best time to discipline a child, that even the most active among them want to participate and stand in the line.
(IMPORTANT: But how do they play that when we adults keep pushing them out of the Saf , hushing and saying that they are not supposed to be in the same line , really ? Well at least, could we accomodate the sides Saf for them so that they can be together with us? )
  5. Every play has a rule and has the aim. Children love to be explained that the aim for Solat is to aim for Jannah , to aim for Jannah is to gain the mercy of Allah , to gain the mercy of Allah is to thank Allah, to obey Allah and to love Allah as our Creator. To the children , it is a play that comes from their loving heart.
  6. (IMPORTANT : But how do they play that when adults are seen busy with their handphones and gadgets in the masjids , even at the time of Khutbah? Worse , when adults give them handphone and gadgets to play in the masjid – with the sound on ! )

In the end, “Children see, Children Do ” – is the name of the game. We adults set the example of the game, and yet we scolded our children for playing it .

Let’s play the love and respect for our children together. Inshaaa Allah ❤️

Lead The Way.

5 Tips To Identify If Your Child is Ready For Preschool.

Your child is at 3,4,5,6 years of age, but how can we be sure that our children are ready to start schooling? Here are 5 Tips to identify if your child is ready for preschool:

Fairly independent

Your child should also be able to take care of some other basic needs, like washing his hands after painting and eating his lunch without assistance. Your child isn’t expected to do everything on their own, but a little independence is key.

Ability to communicate

Successful communication doesn’t need to be solely verbal, but a child does need to be willing to express his needs and desires to his teacher.

Comfortable with routine

Preschools usually follow a predictable routine: circle time, play time, and snack. There’s a good reason for this. Children tend to feel most comfortable and in control when the same things happen at the same time each day.

Emotionally ready

If your child is comfortable to spend some time away from you, then he/she is ready for preschool. While some school anxiety is normal if preschool is the first time you and your child are apart it may result in his/her clinging to you at the door, or running after you, wailing, into the parking lot. This can be distressing for your child, and disconcerting for other learners who are also trying to settle.

Good social interaction

A preschool is a place where your child will learn to socialize with others and make new friends, but it’s important that your child is able to interact with others. The best way to determine is to attend any preschool open day as it is the best time to see how your child interact and adapt to the environment. Find your neighbourhood Genius Aulad to find out of their up and coming Open Day, to give your child the opportunity to experience preschool the Genius Aulad way 😊

What does it take to raise a happy muslim?

Is it sufficient to teach them how to read or pray only? It takes more than that!

At Genius Aulad, we work hard to ensure that your children are getting the right and balanced, fun education. Our dedicated team develop the system in such a way to nurture our kids to become future muslim leaders and innovators!

Give your child a good name

Parents have the responsibility to provide the child with a good name which is in accordance with Islamic traditions. One of the hadith in this context is the one narrated by Naafi’ that Ibn ‘Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ‘Abd-Allah and ‘Abd al-Rahmaan” (Narrated by Muslim, 2132).

Treat your children fairly

All children within a family have their own rights to be treated fairly. This right was referred to by the Prophet (s) in the saheeh hadith: “Fear Allah and treat your children fairly” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2447; Muslim, 1623).

Spend reasonably on your child

Parents, and especially fathers, have the responsibility to spend on their children in ways that can help their proper upbringing. It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Amr said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: “It is sufficient sin for a man if he neglects those on whom he is obliged to spend” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 1692; classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 4481).

Treat your child with love & mercy

Parents have the obligation to show love and mercy to their children. This will help children to develop normal and stable personalities and will also make it easier for children to love and respect their parents and elders when they grow up. Seeing the Prophet kissing his grandson, a person named Alaqr’a Ibn Habis found this behaviour strange and said, “I have ten children, but I have never kissed any of them.” The Prophet (s) replied, “The one who has no compassion will not be treated mercifully” (Sahih Bukhari and At-Tirmidhi).

Provide your children with the right education!

The best gift that parents can provide to their children is training that can help them live as responsible Muslim adults fulfilling the rights of Allah and others. This, then, can lead them to succeed in the hereafter as well. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “The best gift to children from parents is their correct training” (Tirmidhi).

Is your child reading or just sounding words?

Reading is not about the sounding of letters and words. This is the message that Zaliza Alias is trying to drill into parents. The founder of the Genius Aulad Pre-School says that very often parents equate reading to an ability to sound out letters and words rather than comprehension or understanding of context, or even the ability to relate a story. She says parents should stop being preoccupied with how fast their children can learn to sound letters and words, and instead encourage reading in any form. By reading, she also means being able to relate a story from pictures. “Some children might like to read bottle labels or even pictures. If it involves language, content and communication – that is reading. Reading is not the sounding of words. This is something I want to advocate. I find that generally parents’ expectations of their child’s ability to read is about the sounding of letters and words. “They think that if their child can sound ‘Peter is here’ then their child knows how to read. But, that’s just it – that’s just the sounding of letters; it doesn’t go beyond that. Maybe your child might know the meaning of ‘Peter is here’ but will your child know how to put it in context or elaborate?” she asks. Reading is a skill that is increasingly lost as the child goes to primary school where the emphasis is to do well and score high marks. At that point, children very often read more school books and give up on storybooks. “They won’t read for leisure or to seek knowledge, but for homework, because they are afraid of the teacher; afraid of the school grades and report card. They would have lost the pleasure of reading which begins from young when parents expect schools to make their child sound the words. “I always tell parents not to keep asking when their child will start reading when they enrol in our school. It is actually a long process for a child to start reading,” informs Zaliza. She believes that parents should not look at reading as the whole development – that when your child can sound words, he or she is clever and has a bright future. “Increasingly we see that children don’t do critical thinking, especially when they start going to school, and even more so when they are asked not to question and just follow what the teacher says,” laments Zaliza, who has 16 years’ experience in the education line.

Pre-reading

According to Zaliza, just looking at pictures and coming up with a story is part of the reading process; this is what is sometimes called pre-reading. “Pre-reading can take a long time. It goes on until they grow up and become adults and read novels, even. If they have good pre-reading skills, if their pre-reading skills are mature enough, they can read better. It’s like when you cook and really prepare all the ingredients well rather than using the instant ingredients. Cooking is fast but the preparation takes a long time; it is the same with reading,” she says. Is your child reading or just sounding words? Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/family/features/2012/11/12/is-your-child-reading-or-just-sounding-words/#v5gUTukC9uHmwT1s.99 The preparation in reading involves the bonding between child and parent, communication and the use of imagination. When children are pre-reading, they are not just looking at pictures, they also point at things in the picture – that involves hand-eye co-ordination. Pointing is an important part of reading, explains Zaliza. Some children can’t focus long. They can only read short paragraphs of text before they lose interest. Practising hand-eye co-ordination for a longer time will help them maintain their attention span, especially if they spend more time pointing at all the items in the pictures. Zaliza says that parents should also teach children to look at the details rather than merely looking at things on the surface. Once they start reading, parents could encourage children to read labels at the supermarket or sign boards. This way, car rides and trips to the supermarket could be turned into educational and fun activities. However, Zaliza says it should be a family practice without it being too intentional.

Development

The ability to read is the same as other developments – each child moves at his or her own pace. Parents should not expect their child to read just because the neighbour’s child of the same age can already read. Zaliza stresses that there is no fixed age for when children should start reading. Children will start sounding letters and reading when they are ready. And, as they grow up, they develop their reading style, which is influenced by the environment and how they are nurtured. Zaliza expresses hope that parents would not be so quick to deduce what type of learner or reader (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) their child is based on whether the child likes to see picture books or books with text. “Their learning behaviour evolves and it keeps developing. Don’t confine the children to just one way of learning and reading. Keep giving them all sorts of exposure to books and reading. As parents, you know your child best so don’t confine your child to terminologies,” advises Zaliza. Parents should also not confine their child’s reading material. According to Zaliza, boys seem to prefer manuals, magazines and comics rather than books. Rather than chide them for spending too much time on comics and magazines, parents should encourage any sort of reading.

Health issues

While each child develops at his or her own pace, parents should also notice if their child has other issues which affect their reading development. For example, a child could have an eye problem or a learning disability. These typically come with other signs and symptoms and parents will have to monitor their child to notice them. “I would encourage parents to keep looking for reasons (for why their child is developing at a different pace) as they observe their child,” says Zaliza. Is your child reading or just sounding words?

Tips for parents

Here are her tips to parents: – Don’t limit reading to the mere sounding of letters and words. – Don’t confine reading to just books. – Do spend time with your children and observe them. As you do various types of reading with them, you will observe more things about them. – Focus on what your child can do, rather than what they can’t do. Your child might learn differently from other kids. He or she might be better at storytelling, which is also part of the building blocks of communication. – Have a routine for reading – a certain time of the day when the whole family reads. “Read anywhere, any time, anything and have the right expectations of your child because reading is a whole development and not just the sounding of words,” concludes Zaliza. GURUKU BUKAN DI ATAS KERTAS

Assalamualaikum, Sekarang ini sibuk tentang usul supaya semua GURU TADIKA mempunyai DIPLOMA PENDIDIKAN AWAL KANAK-KANAK. Perlukah?

Are They Qualified?

A parent asked,

“What is the qualification of the teachers in GENIUS AULAD? Are they all graduates in Early Childhood?”

We happily answered,

“Most of the teachers are graduates, but they are mostly graduates in various fields!

  • They are with us because of their passion and patience, beyond the papers.
  • They are with us because they have skills and creativity of turning a box of “rubbish” into beautiful arts for children to learn.

Passionate and Dedicated

  • They are with us because they just love to jump and sing and play games with children, beyond the papers. They can memorize all the games and all children songs and can do it whole day from morning again and again every day.
  • They are with us because they don’t mind to make fool of themselves, to be the clowns to make children laugh but at the same time can very firm to make children listen and be disciplined. They can make the children love to line-up nicely going down the staircase while singing Solawat instead of running.
  • They are with us because they carry their responsibility even after-working hours or weekends to write Lesson Plans, teaching aids, class displays, stage props, costumes, and the list goes on.
  • They are with us because they can be calm when children pee in the pants, when drinks spill on the table, when the water colour is all over the floor, and more..
  • They are with us because they are there for the children who need to be washed at the toilet, who need to blow their nose, who need a hug even when the children are sweaty or with snot all over – without hesitation.

They are with us for their love, patience and passion beyond papers can measure.

Honestly.

From the Founder of GENIUS AULAD.
———-
NOTE: Although the teachers are mostly graduates, we enrich them with on-going Early Childhood trainings and coaching by GENIUS AULAD in-house trainers (HRDF certified), as well as from various professionals.
